It's that time of year again where the tarmac at Taupo International Dragway roars into life with the thunder of the big boys and girls. See the might of the Top Alcohol Funny Cars coming up against the thundering horsepower of the Top Alcohol Dragsters.
See your favourite Top Doorslammer take their beasts down the track to see who crosses the line first in this annual 1/8th mile shootout.
See the power and glory of yesteryear as some of the countries finest Hot Rods and Nostalgia cars come to the line in the Hot Rod / Nostalgia class.
The tarmac will again be begging for mercy when it sees Ian Wilkins on his record setting Funny bike coming to the line. Who will face Ian as they line up in Competition Bike?.
A class for all the top Competition Cars is also a crowd drawer with wheelstanding action. Whether they are imports with Rotarys or the might of the V8's this division is always hotly contested.
Two divisions are open to anybody to enter on their bikes or cars, all you need is a WOF / REG, helmet and closed in footwear, street licence and a day licence and you are good to go................................. however, you may just find yourself coming up next to the season pros who come racing in their street machines every chance they get! Also beware............. You WILL catch the bug!
See the up and coming talents of the young guns and the girls and boys of New Zealand Junior Dragsters battle it out on the 1/8th mile to see who will walk away the champ. Another class not to be missed is the brutes of Junior Dragsters, this includes the current Australasian record holder Tyler, coming up against the mighty force of New Zealands Queen of Junior Dragsters Janelle in the 330" Outlaw Shoot out. The speed of these two kids has to be seen to be believed.
